Thiwangkorn Lilit, a native of Chiang Mai, Thailand, received his first formal musical training on electric organ at the age of ten.  Since then he has advanced his study adding piano and composition. Mr. Lilit graduated from Payap University then earned his masters degree at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.  His previous principle teachers include Pritta Chailangkarn, Prakob Silapasornphech, Margaret S. Ott and Michael Gandolfi.

Mr. Lilit was the first prize winner at Thailand Yamaha Electone Festival for the years 1988 and 1990.  He also represented Thailand in the South-East Asian Electone Festival in 1989 in Bangkok and in 1991 in Taipei.  In 1993, he was one of the two finalists to enter the Bangkok Chopin Piano Competition.  His original composition entitled “Indhanoon”, was chosen to be in a Payap University musical production “The Parrot’s Dream.”  In the United States, Mr. Lilit gave live performances on piano at KPBX-FM 91.1 in Spokane, Washington.  The same radio station also presented his original composition “Imitation”. His original compositions were heard through out the U.S. and abroad, including at the prestigious Jordan Hall, New England Conservatory of Music. In 2003, the College Music Society chose his original song-set “Flower-Gathering” to perform at the annual conference in Costa Rica.  His CD entitled “Thai Souvenirs” which is comprised of his original compositions was released in February 2009.

Currently, Mr. Lilit is based in Massachusetts and New York.  He holds the music director position at the Royal Academy for Music in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, where he was awarded Teacher of the Year from 2004 to 2006.
